Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Program
There are grants for retrofit insulation measures available to everyone. Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Program provides funding for insulation grants annually. The Thermal Comfort grant is based on your annual household income and you qualify you could receive a free insulation install for each measure. The criteria are;
- A couple / single parent or pensioner over 65 with a gross income below £40,000
- A single occupant with a gross income below £33,000
- You must be a homeowner and be living in the property.

Building control is included in the grant for both cavity and loft.
HELP TO INSULATE GRANT
Grant of 40% towards the cost of Cavity Wall Insulation and/or loft Insulation (up to £650 maximum grant available per insulation measure and up to £1,000 maximum grant available for Cavity Wall Insulation – Extraction & Refill). This grant is available to owner occupiers and private tenants of registered landlords. It is available to all income levels if not eligible for other NISEP schemes.
affordable warmth scheme
The affordable warmth scheme is for cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, extraction and cavity cleaning. This scheme is applied for through your local council and is run in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
